I thought i would give this another try, It is the Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation 16hr with SPF20  I used to love this foundation but since trying others I have realized it is not that good, the staying power is around 4hrs  and I have other foundations with better coverage. I think I will pass this on to my daughter and see if she wants it.

I would class this as a Blah!

image

Rimmel Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder with natural minerals in 021 transparent. I had high hopes for this powder, It has developed a funny sheen in the middle, after only a few uses, I always clean my makeup brushes , so I know that is not the cause,  it was an OK powder at first but now I feel uncomfortable using it. If anyone has any ideas on what it is , please let me know

I would give this a Blah!

image

For concealer this week I have been using my Sleek colour correct pallet in 02 fair, It has a colour corrector , normal concealer and a finishing powder. This is one of the best concealers I have come across.

I would give this an excellent.

image

For blush this week I have been using  Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Blush in Desert Rose, this blush is so pigmented, you only need a tiny amount, it is absolutely  beautiful on and lasts all day.

I would give this an excellent!

image

The bronzer I have been using this week is not really a bronzer, it is the Revlon Colourstay powder in very deep, this works perfectly as a matt bronzer.

I would give this a Good

image

On my eyes this week I have been using a wonderful eye crayon I found at F&F in the colour gold coast. it is long wearing and does not crease. Also I have been using my favorite eyeliner Urban Decay 24/7 in Perversion, I have never found a better eyeliner, it goes on super smooth and lasts until you take it off.

I would give both of these an Excellent

On my lips I have been using Max Factor Colour Elixer Pen Stick in Hot Chocolate 50, This is a gorgeous colour and goes on wonderfully , the only problem is it lasts about an 1 hr before you have to reapply .

I would give this an Blah!

For lip-gloss I have been using an old favorite Rimmel Stay Glossy in 740 Everlasting Crush, I love this gloss it is not sticky feels wonderful on and lasts a good while.

I would give this an excellent.

image

I have been trying a new mascara this week the L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Manga in Black, I am still not sure about it yet, It does lengthen my lashes, but does not create lots of volume, I will give it another week or so before making a final conclusion.

image

image

And lastly for eye shadow i have been using my Urban decay Smoked Pallet, Good I absolutely adore this pallet, It comes with an instruction book with step by step guides  for all different looks, the pigmentation and colours are unbelievable.  The staying power of these shadows is also unbelievable, I our recommend this pallet to anyone.

I would give this an excellent.

Hope you found this interesting, Please leave me a comment, It would make me so happy.

Saturday Mini Haul

image

So I went into today today to just buy a primer as I was running out, and one thing lead to another and I ended up with all of these bargains.

I got this L’oreal Skin Perfection Micellar water, I have been on the look out for a new make up remover and this one claims quite a few things, it swiftly dissolves make up and captures pore clogging impurities in just one gentle action, in other words  it removes make up purifies unclogs tones and smooths, I hope it delivers that! I will use it for a few weeks and them let you know. This was on sale in Superdrug 50% off.

image

Next I though I would give the new Tresemme Instant refresh Dry Shampoo a go, i love my Batiste Dry Shampoo, but wanted to mix it up and give something else a try, this was 50% off at Superdrug £2.35 for 200ml

image

I have been looking at this for a long time but did not want to pay £19.99, I went in our local Factory Shop and it was there on offer at £7 , Bargain !!!! Again I will use this for a while and give you my verdict. It states it helps with deep wrinkles, fine lines, loss of firmness, loss of tone, lack of plumpness, lack of suppleness, dull complexion, uneven skin tone, uneven skin texture and dryness, I don’t expect it to make me look 20 again , but if it can do half of what it says I will be one happy 42 yr old lol

image

Another bargain this is the Revlon  Baby Stick for Lips & Cheeks. it is a lovely colour this was in the £1 store and there was loads of other colours.

image

This is the item I went into town for ! I needed a new primer so after checking some reviews and U-Tube I thought I would give this one a go. All the Maybelline was on Buy One get One half price at superdrug so I picked up a back up of my favorite Lipstick, Super Stay 14hr Lipstick in Lasting Chestnut 720.  So another bargain!

image

image

Also in the £1 Store I found this Sally Hansen Colour Quick Fast Dry Nail Colour Pen. Just click to dispense colour brush on and Go!  It has Panthenol and anti-oxident vitamins A,C & E plus UV protector.

image

image

Another find at the £1 store, this Revlon Nail art pen, They had others with bright colours but I loved both the base colour and the golden colour pen .

image

And lastly another two items for my little nieces make up collection, this time a Micky Mouse cute Lip Gloss and some little stick on false nails.

My Top 5 Wish List (Tag)

Ok , now for something a little different 🙂

I though it would be interesting to see everyone wish list, so if you are reading this and have a blog consider yourself tagged.

1. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Pallet

I would really like this one, I have seen so many reviews on U-Tube, it even smells like chocolate

2. The Lorac Pro Pallet

I like the idea of this one again it has good reviews and also is a 50/50 mix of shimmer and matt shadows, sadly I cant seem to get hold of this in the UK.

3. The Balm Nude Tude Pallet

Again lots of lovely colours but hard to get hold of in the UK you can look on Amazon and Ebay but there are that many fakes, it is not worth it

Nice Palette

4.  Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder

The idea behind this sounds really good, just the price tag is not lol

A

Lighting Powder

5.  Sigma Brushes

Any of the sigma brushes, but they are so expensive…

For Blusher this week I have been using my Sleek blush in Antique

image

This is a dusky rose colour with subtle  silver glitters, it is ultra long lasting and suits all skin tones. It is easy to blend and is extremely pigmented. I was not really sure on the colour when i first purchased it, but it is a really lovely on.

Excellent

On my eyes this week I have been using Naked 3

I will not post a pic as everyone knows what it looks like!

It has loads of shades ranging from pale to deep, matte to sparkly, It is easy to create all looks from deep smokey eyes to a natural look. I don’t use this pallet as much as My Naked and Naked 2 it is a shame as it is just as good. I must make an effort to use it more!

Excellent

I also found another good bronzer this week at B&M the Rimmel 3D bronzer.

image

It is lovely for us pale ladies, it just gives a slight bronzing effect, with a little shimmer, (no orange in sight !) , also for all you ladies with a tan it would look lovely as a highlight!

Good

Lastly this week another Revlon lipstick a natural colour , it goes on smoothly , lasts quite well and feels nice on the lips, it is in 030 Pink Pearl,

Good

Weekly Favs and Fails Wk 4

image

Hello , oh I had such a life changing week last week, I have a new job and a new career path, it has been so exciting anyway let’s get on with my favs and fails

image

I have been using my Garnier Simple Essentials 2 in 1 makeup remover, it has no alcohol and no perfume, it is suitable for sensitive skin, my thoughts on this product is Blah!

It states that it will remove even waterproof  mascara but nope not a chance., it just does not work,  I have only ever found one makeup remover that will but I can not and will not pay £18 for a small bottle , so if anyone has any suggestions please comment below!

I have also been trying the Benefit Moisture Prep Toning Lotion, again this is a product which is really good, but the price of the full product puts me off. I much prefer my Simple Soothing Facial Toner. So I will give the benefit one a Good but Pricey

image

For eyeshadow I have been using (or tried to use ) my Avon Pallet in Stone Taupes, really not impressed with this one, the colours look nice in the pallet it even looks nice when you swatch it on you finger, but when you try to use it,…….  The colours blend to a ugly mess, it fades very quickly even when using a primer, so I will have to give this one a don’t even bother.

For Blusher and bronzer I thought I would try my  fashionista pallet, the eyeshadow are nice, not great but ok, but I have never really took the time to use the blusher and bronzer in the pallet, the blusher is called Amber Glow, and the Bronzer is Rome,

Oh My Good God !!!!

A hour after I applied it my cheeks started it burn , it got worse and worse , I finally had to take it off! I don’t know what they put in them but my skin really really does not like it,

So if you do buy any of the fashionista just be careful!

image

Foundation Rimmel Match perfection in 010 Light Porcelain , love this foundation, it lasts all day, it is easy to blend, it matches my skin tone, and is a light coverage foundation, I would give this an Excellent.

Lipstick, Mac Mocha it has a satin finish, and it is one of my fav lipsticks, it is a great shade, lasts a good while , It is also my one and only high End Lipstick. Lol

I picked up these two in the Pound Shop for my niece Tia, she had just turned 5 and loves nail varnish, so she is starting her own collection lol

Please leave me a comment.

Nail Varnish Fun with a very Special Young Lady

image

My niece came for a visit yesterday, we decided as she was not in school, and after we had checked with her mum,  that we would do a very grown up nail varnish look.

After some hard thought we came up with a rainbow theme, after talking about rainbows, we came up with the following:-

Red

Yellow

Pink

Green

Orange

Purple

Blue

I think you will agree , these colours were all in the all important rainbow song.

So starting left to right we managed to make a rainbow, after counting again we came to the conclusion we had three fingers left, so we started again from  Red.

Also we decides that all young ladies toes needed pink sparkles nail varnish, then after addressing that concern we thought a bit of grown up Maybelline baby lips chap stick (with pink tint)  would finish off the grown up look.

love Anita and Tia (age 5)

Weekly Favs and Fails 6th April

Hi welcome to my weekly favs and fails.

They are marked on Excellent , Good, Blah and Don’t even bother.

image

For foundation this week I have be using Revlon Age Defying Makeup with Botafirm SPF 15 for Dry Skin, in 01 Fresh Ivory.

Hey what can I say, at my age you need all the help you can get!

This is a lovely foundation I use my beauty blender to apply it, and I am really happy with the results. I am not sure if it hides all my lines and wrinkles but it is a nice foundation.

So I would rate it as Good

image

Next is my ELF Contouring Blush & Bronzer in St Lucia

Love , Love , Love this the blusher is a lovely natural blusher, with a hint of sparkle, the colour would suit most skin tones, the Matt bronzer looks well on my pale skin.  for the price I think it is a real bargain , I would recommend it to anyone.

Excellent

image

For highlighter this week I have been using my Sleek Contour Kit in Light.

I love most  sleek products, the highlighter is perfect, it gives a natural highlight without being too shimmery, which is good , as to much shimmer means highlighting my few (ish) wrinkles and laughter lines. The bronzer is a matt and is very pigmented so you need to use a light hand.

If you use a light hand Excellent, if you are heavy handed I would rate it as Good.

image

i have been trying the ELF Primer in Champagne  this week and I have been really surprised. The  packaging is a little deceptive as it looks really dark but one you put it on the colour is wonderful. It does exactly what it says. I will be repurchasing when I have finished this one.

Excellent

I have rediscovered  my Maybelline colour 24hr Tattoo in One and On Bronze. I have been using this under my Naked pallet and Naked 3 Pallet to add a little extra something. it is working wonderfully.  Also I have used it just with the above elf primer on its own and it looked brilliant and took about 30 seconds to do, great on those days when  you have no time to do anything else.

So hell yeah excellent 🙂

image

For my lips this week I have been using an old fav, (you can tell by the packaging) NYC lipstick in Creamy Caramel, this is my go to lipstick, it is a great natural colour on me , it is creamy and lasts a good while, I would love it to last longer,

So although I love it it rates Good

Also this week I have been using my Elf Minty Lip Gloss,

It is a nice colour and leave you lips feeling tingly ( is that a real word?)

But it only lasts about 5 minutes on me!

So  unfortunately this rates a Don’t even bother,

image

So last but not least, I have been trying my new Burts Bees Lip Balm, I can see why everyone has been raving about it, I have really dry lips and I have been using this at night and during the day as a lip primer. It is working wonders.

Excellent

And I have been using Elf Blush Nail Varnish this week as I have been attending lots of interviews,  it is a pretty natural colour, that lasts about 4/5 days without chipping and that is a first for me.

so far I would rate this as Good.

Hope this has been helpful.

Mini Pound Shop Haul

image

So I did my weekly look around my local Pound Stores and 99p Stores and found these treasures,

First Garnier Skin Naturals Body Summer Moisturising Spray Mist with apricot extract.

I have used this before but as a lotion, it is a great moisturiser with a hint of self tan, it is great for very pale ladies like me, (normal self tan makes me orange) while this just gives a sun kissed look, without any streaks.  I can’t wait to try the mist,  I purchased two of these in the pound store.

image

Also in the Pound Store I found to Wet ‘n’Wild Lipsticks

They are from the Wild Shine Range E926 Flirtatious and E927 Risqué . I have only tried one so far and all I can say is Wow! They are gorgeous x

From the 99p store I picked up two of the Garnier Essentials Regenerating Eye Creams in 15ml pots.

I get puffy eyes in the morning so a good eye cream is a must. I will try these for a week and give you a review, I usually use quite expensive eye creams, so if these work I will go back and buy a bucket full.

I love walking round the £1 stores sometimes you can find real bargains, let me know what is the best bargain you have found in the £1 stores.
